Welcome to the site where you can find out all the information about my latest music and also my past recordings. I've been gigging and recording a while now and thought that I'd share things with everyone.

This home page is where you will find al the latest blogs and news, and also any upcoming gigs in the future. The Biography page is where you will find my musical background from bands like Kelso, Pincushion, Orleans and others to the music I am doing now. The music page speaks for its self really. You will find samples of my back catalogue aswell as new music I record. At some point in the future you will also be able to buy some music on that page. Like the music page the Gallery page contains pictures spanning many of the bands I have been in though unfortunately some bands I've been in I dont have photos of. The links page is where you will find links to my myspace and other various websites such as bands that have influenced me and also music sites that I get some equiptment from.

22/01/2012 - I hope everybody had a great new year and Christmas. Things have been busy here outside the music side of things so there isnt too much to report. I will be writing and recording in early Feb so hopefully there will be a bit more news mid Feb. Thanks you everyones continued support.

17/12/2011: Thanks to everyone for the great feedback on the Wake Up release. Its also great that within the past couple of weeks both "do you wanna be my girl", and "Fake It", have passsed the 1,00 plays on Icomps. And also that total plays are nearly 10,000. I hope everyone is looking forward to Christmas, for me it will be a nice chance to rest. I'm currently taking a short break from writing to gain some more inspration, I think it will be in the new year when i get back to writing a recording. Thanks again for everyones support.

10/09/2011: OK so ive now done the first mix of the 9 new songs. There were originally 10 but one isnt quite where i want it to be so Im leaving for now. The songs are as follows:

As some of you may notice "She's not Dead", is an old song i recorded and wrote when i was in Pincushion. Ive now rerecorded it and changed the melody and i hope when you hear it you enjoy the new version.

07/08/2011: Things are going well at the moment "The End (Is Just The Start)", has been going down very well on the net and has had over 350 plays in the last 3 weeks which is a great start. And a big thanks to everyone on myspace as in the past two weeks ive gained another 1,000 fans. Unfortunatly there are some problems with the myspace media player so its not counting song plays and some times not playing songs. Im currently writing some new material and i have the music written for 10 news songs so now its just a matter of writing the lyrics. Hopefully I should have them all finished by the end of September os stay tuned. On my links page you can also now fin a link to my new MacJams artist page.

09/07/2011: Things are moving along well and there has been great feedback from the two songs released on the net "Dangerous!", and "Get Free". In the coming weeks the compilation entitled "Roulette", will be making its way to various radio stations so hopefully you may hear them soon on the radio. Here is the cover art for Roulette:

12/06/2011: Wow i didnt realise it had been so long since an update. Well the Atom collective seems to have gone down a storm and im greatful for all the feedback from the songs that have been realesed on the net. Im in the process now of finishing off my next EP which will be a 5 track download. The first song "Dangerous", has gained a lot of feedback on Icomp. If you follow my profile from the links section you will be able to have a listen. Ive got the music recorded for 4 other songs and im busy writing lyrics now. Once I have finished the songs I will upload them for you all to listen to. Around mid to late July there will be a number of my songs that will be going out to radio stations so keep your ear out and you might hear them.

13/01/2011: Hope you all had a good new year. OK so Ive now finished what was the "Atom Collective EP", but will now be an LP which I will announce the title of soon. For now here are the tracks that will appear on the LP.

28/12/2010: Hope everyone has had a good Christmas and new year. It's been a bit cold and snowny here in the UK with a lot of services going on shut down due to the weather. Its hard to believe that one days snow can cause soo much trouble. Anyway I'm now getting back into the swing of things and should have something in the new year. The song Na Na has been remixed and a link will be posted in the next few days.

31/10/2010: Dont know if I'm just jinxing myself but i thought the songs would be ready today but as Ive written another 3 its gonna have to wait. It will be worth the wait though.

24/10/2010: Well I have now finished the song and it is now called "Na Na" . You can find an early mix on Icompositions . I am still hoping to have the EP finished by the end of the month as there are just 2 tracks left to mix. So far the tracks finished are:

16/10/2010: On a writing level things are going well. I've written a new song which just came to me called "You must be Crazy". All I've got to do is finish the second verse lyrics and then record the singing and it will be done. I am very excited about the new material and what started off as a 3 to 4 song EP could end up as a 6 song EP, maybe more of a mini albums as the songs aint short. I look forward to you all hearing them. Thanks to everyone who keeps on checking by as the site hits have remained impressive even though things have been quiet recently. I think maybe the end of this month the new EP should be finished. Once more news is out i will let you know.

08/10/2010: Things are going well and the new mix of "Are you gonna be my girl has been doing very well". Since I've been on Icompositions I have had over 1,000 plays which is amazing and its good to know that people are enjoying the music. I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who has listened on that site. I'd also like to thank all my new followers on facebook its nice to see some new and old faces. I've got the music recorded for my new EP entitled "The Atom Collective". The title may change at some point but the theme behind it will not.

13/09/2010: After a weeks deserved holiday its back to working on new songs. "Do you wanna be my girl", has recieved very posetive feedback so far and recieved over 100 plays in its first week on the site Icomposition. The new EP "Atom collective", is still in the process of being written and recorded with "Do you wanna be my girl being the lead track from that EP.

29/08/2010 - I've now managed to finish my new song which is called "Do you wanna be my girl". It will be premiered on my Icomposistions profile on 02.09.2010

21/08/2010: I would just like to say a BIG thank you to all the support that Ive been getting recently. The feedback Ive been getting from you all has been great. On I comp I have had over 350 plays in the past week is amazing and everyone there has been so nice. Ive finally managed to get the MySpace account working properly so that it is playing the music. Due to space as new songs are recorded and put up on the site old ones will be removed, therefore if you hear anything you like or would like email me on ian@ianmurphymusic.com and i will sort something out. Ive been writing a new song recently which I'm really looking forward to finishing, its got a great groove and hook. I will soon be getting a blogger page up and running which i am looking forward to as ive never done one before.

15/08/2010: I've done what i never thought i would do and have joined twitter. You can follow me on @MurphyMusicUK . In the up coming weeks there will be more ways to follow my music. For nwo i hope you are enjoying the music on the site. MySpace is playing up at the moment and the music players aren't working properly so until thats resolved this site is the only place to hear my music. On the links page there is now also a link to my Facebook page.

08/08/2010: Hope you all like the new look. Now upload are all the recent solo EPs and the artwork for them. The Ian Murphy Music picture page is also up and running. In the coming weeks some Malorie music will be added along with some Kelso pictures. Soon you will also be able to follow me on Twitter and Blog, so stay tuned.

01/08/2010: OK so everything is finished now, ive mastered everything and even got a front cover for the new music ive recorded. It will soon be up and ready. Also within the next week i will have the music for the last 2 EPs that i have recorded called "Rapture", and "Fightback". For now i hope the new artwork will keep you entertained:

03/07/2010: I've got 8 new songs written and ive nearly finished recording them. Ive just got the voclas to do on two more songs and then ive got to mix and master the songs. Once they are all mixed and mastered I will be putting them on myspace and this site. I will also try and put up the last few songs that I have done, some of which are on myspace.

12/05/2010: Ive been busy working on some new songs which i think should be finsihed around the July time. I thinkthe new songs whilst sharing bits in common with the older songs have a slight new edge to them, one which i hope people will enjoy. I've also started to learn the bass now, and whilst i can play guitar playing bass is different if you want to play it right and not just like a guitar with 4 strings :) .

04/01/2010: I know things have been quiet for the last 8 months but thats down to a number of reasons. Ive been writing, but haven;t been as insiried. The music thats been coming out over the past year hasnt been the greatest so its left me looking to older music. Im hoping to mix a couple of new tracks and put them on the site in the next couple of weeks. Ive also been doing some session work which i will have to wait to see if it comes to light before i mention too much. I hope everyone is doing good and have had a good new year. 2010 should be a good one.

28/04/2009: I'm in the process of recording some new songs at the moment all of which are songs that i have written. Some of them will be older songs that i did with Pincushion towards the end of the band which never really got recorded such as "Throw It Away", and "Anything", and others will be new. I cant wait to finish them and get them put up on the site and on myspace.

07/02/2009- Hope every has had a good new year. Ive been busying myself recently learning to play classical guitar. It aint been easy after playing rock music for most of my life but it's been a good chalenge and at some point it should make my songwriting style a bit more diverse. But for now i will keep plugging away trying my best and also writing some new songs.

14/12/2008 - OK so im getting better at this keeping up to date thing. Ive finished recording two of my new songs called "Not Today", and "Hard Times". I will be putting them up on my site and myspace later next week due to the fact they need to be mixed and i have another song im waiting to put the vocals on called "Fire Inisde". I think "Not Today" is sounding a lot like the music from the Pincushion days, ie up tempo punk/pop/rock. "Hard Times" is some good old fashioned riff rock with "Fire Inside" being a slightly different kinda rock than ive done in the past. Im looking forward to everyone hearing them.

08/12/2008 - Things now seem to be coming back to normal and im working on two new songs at the moment, I should hopefully have them up on the site in the next week. Ive also managed to find some Malorie songs and pics aswell as some Kelso pics so once ive sorted through them i will put them up on the site. Thanks for the support and the emails that i get.

25/08/2008- I've written a song called "On The Run", for Virgin Radios alternative bond theme. Hopefully it should appear on their website sometime this week. Once it does i'll put up a link so that you can all hear it.

17/08/2008: Ive been hard at work recording new material this weekend which ive been writing over the past week or two. The new songs are "Rewind, Erase", "Fallen", and also "Only He". Samples of all these songs can be found on the music page, aswell as full versions on my myspace profile. I'd like to thank all the people on myspace who have been very supportive of my new material.
